Seventh Sunday of Easter
THE GIFT OF GIFTS: THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Jesus said, “Ask and you will receive, seek and you will find; knock and
the door will be opened to you…” Also, Jesus said that anything that
you ask in my name I will give you and ask so that your joy will be
complete.
What then should we ask of the Lord, especially because goodness,
generosity, magnanimity, overflowing bounty, is His the essence of His
nature?
Many ask and do not receive because the petition will not result in
glorifying God, in one’s own sanctification, nor in the sanctification of
others. As a good Father, God can say “No” if in His Divine
Providence, He foresees that granting that request could be spiritually
harmful to the soul.
However, there is a “Gift” that we can beg from the Lord and this
“Gift of Gifts” Jesus is always willing to give to us if we are open to
receiving it. This “Gift” is the Holy Spirit.
How important prayer really is! Listen to the words of the great Doctor
of the Church, St. Alphonsus Liguori: “All the adults who are in
Heaven are there because they prayed; had they not prayed, they never
would have reached heaven. All who are in Hell are there because they
neglected prayer; had they prayed, they would not be in Hell but in
Heaven. Two criminals died, one on each side of Jesus; one of them
prayed and was saved; the other did not pray and was lost.”
That first Easter Sunday night, Jesus walked through the walls of the
Upper room—the Cenacle, where the Apostles were hiding in fear. He
greeted them, “Shalom!” Peace be with you. Then Jesus breathed on
them, the “Gift of Gifts, the Holy Spirit, expressing these words:
“Receive the Holy Spirit, whose sins you forgive, they will be forgiven,
whose sins you retain, they shall be retained” (Jn. 20:21-23).
When King David was anointed by the prophet Samuel, the Sacred
Text states that from that moment on the Holy Spirit rushed on David.
Let us pray fervently that the Holy Spirit would rush on us. May the
Holy Spirit purify our memories of past sins; may the Holy Spirit
enlighten our minds with the truth; may the Holy Spirit ignite our
hearts with the fire of Divine love.
After a nine day intense period of prayer--- the first novena in the
Catholic Church - a spiritual bomb exploded in that upper room! The
Apostles and Mary, the mother of Jesus, had been praying and fasting
for nine days. How important prayer is to attain the Gift of Gifts, the
Holy Spirit.
A strong wind, a shaking of the house and the descent of fire. Tongues
of fire actually descended upon the Apostles and Mary.
Men, who just a few days earlier, had given into fears, running away
from Jesus, abandoning Jesus, and even denying Jesus three times, were
totally transformed. Thorns transform into roses; coal into a beautiful
diamond, clouds and storm subside and the beautiful rainbow paints
the sky. Even an ugly worm can grow wings and fly, transformed into
butterfly.
More important, poor sinners can be transformed into great saints, if
they allow for the divine invasion of the Holy Spirit. Blessed Pope John
XXIII stated that the saints are the masterpiece of the Holy Spirit.
These Apostles were hence catapulted to the four corners of the globe
to preach the word of God in obedience to Jesus whose last words
were: “Go out to all nations, teaching them all that I taught you and
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit. Behold, I will be with you always even until the end of the
world!” (Mt. 28: 18-20)
Being crucified upside down, crucified in the form of an X and hanging on the cross for days, decapitation, and even one of them being
flayed alive and final beheaded. Guess who the last was? All of these
were the fearful, cowardly men that first Holy Thursday night, who
allowed the “Gift of Gifts”, the Holy Spirit, to enter their minds,
hearts and transform their total lives!
The same Peter who denied Jesus three times, Holy Thursday after
the Last Supper, after Pentecost and the descent of the Holy Spirit,
launches a sermon and the net result was the conversion of 3,000
souls to Christ! The Holy Spirit’s power and ability to transform is
limited only to our lack of faith and trust in the power of God.
On one occasion Cardinal Suenens was preaching in an outdoor Mass
at a renowned university. The day was overcast, drizzling and the
Mass in danger of being rained out. His eminence lifted his voice and
preached loudly and clearly: “Do you want to know the true secret of
union with the Holy Spirit?” Silence! The Cardinal continued: “The
secret of deep union with the Holy Spirit is love and devotion to
Mary!” Immediately a loud clap of thunder could be heard, followed
by lightning and then miraculously, the clouds disappeared and the
sun broke through the sky, as if to smile on the Cardinal and all who
were listening.
The great Marian Saint, Louis de Montfort, expressed it succinctly:
“Those who love Mary, the Holy Spirit, flings Himself into their
souls.”
Mary is the Daughter of God the Father, the Mother of God the Son
and she is the Mystical Spouse of the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, let us ask for the “Gift of Gifts”, the greatest of Gifts, the
Holy Spirit! Come Holy Spirit, come, through the Heart of Mary!

Séptimo Domingo de Pascua
Secretos de Fátima
Primer Secreto El primer secreto era una
visión del Infierno: Nuestra Señora nos mostró un
gran mar de fuego que pareció estar bajo la tierra.
Hundido en este fuego estaban demonios y almas en la
forma humana, como ascuas transparentes de ardor,
todo bronce ennegrecidos o bruñidos, flotando cerca de
la conflagración, ahora levantados en el aire por las
llamas que saltaron de dentro de sí mismos junto con
grandes nubes de humo, ahora recurriendo a cada
lado parecidas a chispas en un fuego inmenso, sin el
peso o el equilibrio, y entre chillidos y gemido de
dolor y desesperación, que nos horrorizó y nos hizo
temblar de temor. Los demonios podrían ser distinguidos por sus aterradoras y
repulsiva formas semejantes a animales espantosos y desconocidos, todos negros
y transparentes. Esta visión duró por un instante. Cómo pudimos jamás estar
suficientemente agradecidos a nuestra Madre celestial amable, que ya nos
había preparado prometiendo, en la primera Aparición, para tomarnos al
cielo. De otro modo, yo pienso que habríamos muerto del temor y el terror....
Segundo Secreto: El segundo incluyó las instrucciones de María de
cómo salvar las almas del Infierno y reconvertir el mundo a la
cristiandad:
Ustedes han visto el infierno donde las almas de los pobres pecadores van. Para
salvarlos, Dios desea establecer en la devoción de mundo al Corazón
Inmaculado. Si lo que digo a usted es hecho, muchas almas se salvarán y habrá
la paz. La guerra terminará: pero si las personas no dejan de ofender Dios,
una peor estallará durante el Papado de Pío XI. Cuándo ustedes vean una
noche iluminada por una luz desconocida*, sepan que esto es el gran signo
dado a ustedes por Dios que él está a punto de castigar al mundo por sus
crímenes, por medio de la guerra, el hambre, y las persecuciones de la Iglesia y
del santo Padre. Para prevenir esto, yo vendré a pedir la consagración de Rusia
al Corazón Inmaculado, y a la Comunión de reparación en los Primeros
sábados. Si se hacen caso de mis pedidos, Rusia se convertirá, y habrá la paz;
si no, ella esparcirá sus errores a través del mundo, causando las guerras y las
persecuciones de la Iglesia. El bueno será martirizado; el santo Padre tendrá
mucho que sufrir; varias naciones serán aniquiladas. Al fin, el Corazón
Inmaculado triunfará. El santo Padre consagrará Rusia a mí, y ella será
convertida, y un período de paz será otorgado al mundo.
Tercer Secreto: Debido a la larga demora para revelar el tercer
secreto, existen numerosas y variadas teorías que han circulado en la
Iglesia y fuera de ella. Algunas proclaman que habla de la guerra
nuclear, la deposición del Papa, el asesinato de un Papa, o del
reemplazo de un Papa por un impostor. Finalmente, durante una
visita a Portugal para la beatificación de los videntes Francisco y
Jacinta (Lucia estaba todavía viva), el Papa Juan Pablo II anunció por
medio de su Secretario de Estado, el Cardenal Angelo Sodano, que él
había decidido hacer público el texto del tercer secreto. Unos pocos
meses más tarde, el texto fue liberado por el Vaticano, junto con una
discusión del significado del texto.
Después de las dos partes que ya he expuesto, hemos visto al lado izquierdo de
Nuestra Señora un poco más en lo alto a un Ángel con una espada de fuego en
la mano izquierda; centelleando emitía llamas que parecía iban a incendiar el
mundo; pero se apagaban al contacto con el esplendor que Nuestra Señora
irradiaba con su mano derecha dirigida hacia él; el Ángel señalando la tierra
con su mano derecha, dijo con fuerte voz: ¡Penitencia, Penitencia, Penitencia!
Y vimos en una inmensa luz qué es Dios: «algo semejante a como se ven las
personas en un espejo cuando pasan ante él» a un Obispo vestido de Blanco
«hemos tenido el presentimiento de que fuera el Santo Padre».

También a otros Obispos, sacerdotes, religiosos y religiosas subir una montaña
empinada, en cuya cumbre había una gran Cruz de maderos toscos como si
fueran de alcornoque con la corteza; el Santo Padre, antes de llegar a ella,
atravesó una gran ciudad medio en ruinas y medio tembloroso con paso vacilante, apesadumbrado de dolor y pena, rezando por las almas de los cadáveres
que encontraba por el camino; llegado a la cima del monte, postrado de rodillas a los pies de la gran Cruz fue muerto por un grupo de soldados que le
dispararon varios tiros de arma de fuego y flechas; y del mismo modo murieron
unos tras otros los Obispos sacerdotes, religiosos y religiosas y diversas personas
seglares, hombres y mujeres de diversas clases y posiciones. Bajo los dos brazos
de la Cruz había dos Ángeles cada uno de ellos con una jarra de cristal en la
mano, en las cuales recogían la sangre de los Mártires y regaban con ella las
almas que se acercaban a Dios.
EL DON DE LOS DONES: EL ESPÍRITU SANTO
Jesús dijo, "Pidan y recibirán, busquen y encontrarán; llamen y la puerta
se abrirá para usted…" Además, Jesús dijo que todo lo que pidan en mi
nombre, se les dará y pidan para que su alegría sea completa.
¿Qué debemos pedir al Señor, sobre todo porque la bondad, la
generosidad, la magnanimidad, desbordante de recompensa, es la
esencia de Su naturaleza?
Muchos piden y no reciben, porque la petición no resultará en glorificar
a Dios, ni en su santificación, ni tampoco, en la santificación de los
demás. Como un buen Padre, Dios puede decir "No", si en su Divina
Providencia, prevé que al conceder esa petición, podría ser
espiritualmente perjudicial para el alma. Sin embargo, existe un
"Regalo" que nosotros podemos rogar al Señor y este "Regalo de los
Regalos" Jesús siempre está dispuesto a darnos a nosotros, si estamos
abiertos a recibirlo. Este "Regalo" es el Espíritu Santo.
Que importante es realmente la oración! Escuchar las palabras del gran
Doctor de la iglesia, San Alfonso María de Ligorio: "todos los adultos
que están en el cielo existen porque rezaron; si nunca hubieran rezado,
nunca habrían alcanzado el cielo. Todos los que están en el infierno
están ahí, porque descuidaron la oración; si hubieran rezado, no estarían
en el infierno, pero si en el cielo. Dos delincuentes murieron, uno a
cada lado de Jesús; uno de ellos oro y se salvó; y el otro no oro y se
perdió”.
Primera noche del Domingo de la Resurrección, Jesús caminó a través
de las paredes de la sala superior - el Cenáculo, donde los Apóstoles
estaban escondidos por temor. Él, los saludó, "Shalom!" La Paz este
con ustedes. Entonces Jesús sopló sobre ellos, el "Don de los Dones, el
Espíritu Santo, expresando estas palabras: «Reciban al Espíritu Santo.
Los pecados serán perdonados a los que ustedes se los perdonen, y
serán retenidos a los que ustedes se los retengan». (Juan 20:21-23)
Cuando el rey David fue ungido por el profeta Samuel, el texto sagrado
dice que desde ese momento el Espíritu Santo, se abalanzó sobre David.
Oremos fervientemente que el Espíritu Santo, se precipite sobre
nosotros. Que el Espíritu Santo, purifique nuestras memorias de
pecados pasados; que el Espíritu Santo, ilumine nuestras mentes con la
verdad; ¿Qué el Espíritu Santo, pueda encender nuestros corazones con
el fuego del amor divino.
Después de un intenso período de nueve días de oración-la primera
novena en la Iglesia Católica-una bomba espiritual estalló en la sala
superior! María, la madre de Jesús y los apóstoles, habían estado orando
y en ayunando durante nueve días. La importancia de la oración es
alcanzar el regalo de los regalos, el Espíritu Santo.
Un fuerte viento, un temblor de la casa y el descenso del fuego. Lenguas
de fuego realmente descendieron sobre los Apóstoles y María.
Hombres que pocos días antes, habían estado atemorizados, alejándose
de Jesús, abandonando a Jesús e incluso negando a Jesús tres veces,
fueron totalmente transformados. Las espinas se transforman en rosas;
el carbón en un diamante hermoso, las nubes y la tormenta se calman y
el hermoso arco iris se pinta en el cielo. Incluso un gusano feo puede
crecer alas y volar, transformado en mariposa.
Más importantes, los pobres pecadores pueden transformarse en
grandes Santos, si permiten la invasión divina del Espíritu Santo. Beato
Juan XXIII afirmó, que los santos son la obra maestra del Espíritu
Santo. Estos apóstoles por lo tanto, se catapultó a los cuatro rincones
del mundo para predicar la palabra de Dios en la obediencia a Jesús,
cuyas últimas palabras fueron: “Vayan, y hagan que todos los pueblos
sean mis discípulos, bautizándolos en el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y
del Espíritu Santo, y enseñándoles a cumplir todo lo que yo les he
mandado. Y yo estaré siempre con ustedes hasta el fin del mundo».

Siendo crucificado boca abajo, crucificado en la forma de una x y
colgado en la Cruz por días, decapitación e incluso uno de ellos ser
despellejado vivo y al final decapitado. ¿Supóngase quien fue el último? Todos estos eran hombres temerosos, cobardes esa primera noche
de Jueves Santo, quienes permitieron el "regalo de los regalos", el
Espíritu Santo, a entrar a sus mentes, corazones y transformar sus
vidas en su totalidad!
El mismo Pedro que negó a Jesús tres veces, el Jueves Santo después
de la última Cena, después de Pentecostés y el descenso del Espíritu
Santo, lanza un sermón y el neto resultado, fue la conversión de 3.000
almas a Cristo! El Poder y la capacidad de transformar del Espíritu
Santo, está limitado sólo a nuestra falta de fe y la confianza en el poder de Dios.
En una ocasión el cardenal Suenens estaba predicando en una Misa al
aire libre, en una Universidad reconocida. El día estaba nublado, había
llovizna y la Misa en peligro de ser suspendida por la lluvia. Su eminencia levantó su voz y predicó alto y claro: "Desea usted conocer el
verdadero secreto de la unión con el Espíritu Santo?" hubo silencio! El
cardenal continuó: "El secreto de la unión profunda con el Espíritu
Santo, es el amor y la devoción a María!" Inmediatamente un fuerte
aplauso de un trueno, se oyó, seguido por un rayo y luego milagrosamente, desaparecieron las nubes y el sol se abrió a través del cielo,
como si le sonriera al cardenal y a todos los que estaban escuchando.
El gran Santo Mariano, Louis de Montfort, expresó sucintamente:
"aquellos que aman a María, el Espíritu Santo, se lanza a Sí mismo en
sus almas."
María es la hija de Dios el Padre, la Madre de Dios Hijo y ella es la
Esposa Mística del Espíritu Santo
Por lo tanto, Pidamos el "Don de los Dones", el mayor de los Dones
del Espíritu Santo. ¡Ven Espíritu Santo, ven, a través del corazón de
María!

¿Sabe Usted?
Hostigamiento Es Una Forma De Abuso
¿Sabia usted que el hostigamiento (bullying) es una forma de abuso, y
por lo tanto esta prohibido en las escuelas católicas? El hostigamiento
suele consistir en bromas pesadas, burlas, amenazas, golpes, empujones, y el robo. Pero también pude ser indirecta, como la difusión de
rumores que causan a las victimas a ser socialmente aislados a través de
ser excluidas socialmente. El acoso cibernético, que implica el uso de
la Internet o los teléfonos celulares para enviar mensajes o imágenes
inapropiadas de personas o a personas, también es un comportamiento
que no se tolera en nuestras escuelas Católicas. Si usted sospecha que

Secrets of Fatima
The first secret was a vision of Hell: Our Lady
showed us a great sea of fire which seemed to be under
the earth. Plunged in this fire were demons and souls
in human form, like transparent burning embers, all
blackened or burnished bronze, floating about in the
conflagration, now raised into the air by the flames
that issued from within themselves together with great
clouds of smoke, now falling back on every side like
sparks in a huge fire, without weight or equilibrium,
and amid shrieks and groans of pain and despair,
which horrified us and made us tremble with fear. The
demons could be distinguished by their terrifying and
repulsive likeness to frightful and unknown animals, all black and transparent. This vision lasted but an instant. How can we ever be grateful enough to
our kind heavenly Mother, who had already prepared us by promising, in the
first Apparition, to take us to heaven. Otherwise, I think we would have
died of fear and terror.
The second secret is a statement that World War I would end and
supposedly predicts the coming of World War II should God
continue to be offended and if Russia does not convert. The second half requests that Russia be consecrated to the Immaculate
Heart: You have seen hell where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them,
God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If
what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace.
The war is going to end: but if people do not cease offending God, a worse one
will break out during the Pontificate of Pius XI. When you see a night illumined by an unknown light*, know that this is the great sign given you by
God that he is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war,
famine, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father. To prevent
this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate
Heart, and the Communion of reparation on the First Saturdays. If my
requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not,
she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions
of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to
suffer; various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart
will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she shall be
converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world.
This secret's controversy is second only to the supposed final
secret of Fátima, as it seemingly predicts both the allencompassing World War II, the radical Anti theistic ideology of
the Soviet Union; the proxy wars and limited direct confrontations that would be initiated between the Western Democracies
and the Soviet Bloc.
Some critics have noted that the "Prophecy" was not disclosed
until August 1941, after World War II had already begun. To put
this in context, Germany's invasion of the Soviet Union, Operation Barbarossa, began on 22 June 1941. This means that by the
time the secret was revealed, all the events it 'predicts' had already
occurred. The secret also singles out Russia while ignoring Hitler
and the Nazis.
Pope Pius XII allegedly consecrated Russia on 7 July 1952
The third part of the secret was allegedly written down "by order
of His Excellency the Bishop of Leiria and the Most Holy Mother ..." on 3 January 1944. Bishop Silva, visiting Lúcia on 15 September 1943 while she was bed-ridden, first suggested that she
write the third secret down to ensure that it would be recorded in
the event of her death. Lucia was hesitant to do so, however.
Finally, in mid-October, Bishop Silva sent her a letter containing
a direct order to record the secret, and Lúcia obeyed. In June
1944, the sealed envelope containing the third secret was delivered to Silva, where it stayed until 1957, when it was finally delivered to Rome.

It was announced by Cardinal Sodano on 13 May 2000, 83 years
after the first apparition of the Lady to the children in the Cova
da Iria, that the Third Secret would finally be released. In his announcement, Cardinal Sodano implied that the secret was about
the persecution of Christians in the 20th century that culminated
in the failed assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II on 13
May 1981.

The third part of the secret revealed at the Cova da Iria-Fátima, on 13 July
1917.
I write in obedience to you, my God, who command me to do so through his
Excellency the Bishop of Leiria and through your Most Holy Mother and
mine.
After the two parts which I have already explained, at the left of Our Lady
and a little above, we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand;
flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on
fire; but they died out in contact with the splendour that Our Lady radiated
towards him from her right hand: pointing to the earth with his right hand,
the Angel cried out in a loud voice: 'Penance, Penance, Penance!'. And we
saw in an immense light that is God: ‘something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it' a Bishop dressed in White 'we
had the impression that it was the Holy Father'. Other Bishops, Priests, men
and women Religious going up a steep mountain, at the top of which there
was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark; before
reaching there the Holy Father passed through a big city half in ruins and
half trembling with halting step, afflicted with pain and sorrow, he prayed for
the souls of the corpses he met on his way; having reached the top of the mountain, on his knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed by a group of
soldiers who fired bullets and arrows at him, and in the same way there died
one after another the other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious, and
various lay people of different ranks and positions. Beneath the two arms of
the Cross there were two Angels each with a crystal aspersorium in his hand,
in which they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs and with it sprinkled the
souls that were making their way to God.

Bullying Is a Form of Abuse
Did you know that bullying is a form of abuse, and therefore is forbidden in our Catholic schools? Bullying typically consists of direct
behaviors, such as teasing, taunting, threatening, hitting, shoving and
stealing. But it might also be indirect, such as spreading rumors that
cause victims to be socially isolated through intentional exclusion.
Cyberbullying, which involves the use of the Internet or mobile
phones to send inappropriate messages and images to or about others,
is also behavior that is not tolerated in our Catholic schools. If you
