Bericht des Präsidenten
President’s Report
Der diesjährige Präsidentenball war wieder
ein großer Erfolg und
unsere Halle war ausverkauft. Ein Dank an
Rita Allmendinger mit
ihrem Vergnügungskomitee für die schöne
Dekoration der Halle
und überhaupt für die
Organisierung des Präsidentenballs. Ein
Kompliment unserem Chef Andreas und
seinem Küchenpersonal für ein ausgezeichnetes Essen. Bestimmt hab ich einige von
euch übersehen und nicht begrüsst. Bitte
entschuldigt, es war nicht absichtlich. Ein
besonderer Dank an Sibille Forster-Rentmeister und Ehemann Rolf, für die schönen Bilder mit Bericht über unseren Präsidentenball in der Echo Germanica Zeitung.
Dann möchte ich Ursula Dressler zum
Ehrenmitglied für das Jahr 2011 gratulieren.
Inzwischen hatte die Frauengruppe ihr
Bockbierfest mit Krönung der Miss Concordia 2012. Meine Frau Kathi und ich
bedanken uns bei der Frauengruppe für die
Einladung zum Bockbierfest. Über dieses
Fest kann ich erst im nächsten Nachrichtenblatt berichten, da der Abgabe-Termin
für meinen Bericht der 8. April ist. Der ausgehenden Miss Concordia Kyla Pfister ein
herzliches Danke. Kyla hat unseren Klub
hervorragend vertreten und wir wünschen
ihr für die Zukunft alles Gute.
Dann noch einige Hinweise: Klubgelände
Reinigung ist am 5. Mai und Biergarten Eröffnung ist am Dienstag den 22. Mai. Bitte
kommt raus und unterstützt euren Klub.

Our Presidents Ball was again a big success
with a sold-out Hall. Please forgive me if I
did not get a chance to greet everybody.

I would like to extend my thanks to Rita
Allmendinger and her Entertainment Committee for the nice decoration of our Hall
and the organizing of this special evening.
Thanks to our Chef Andreas with his
kitchen helpers for a wonderful dinner and
service.

and her husband Rolf for the wonderful pictures and report from our Presidents Ball in
their Echo Germanica Newspaper.
My wife Kathi and I would like to thank the
Ladies Group for inviting us to their Bockbierfest. On this evening we are also crowning our new 2012 Miss Concordia. Unfortunately, I can’t report anything about our new
Miss, because my Report for the Bulletin
has to be handed in on or before April the
8th.
We thank the outgoing Miss Concordia Kyla
Pfister for being an outstanding Ambassador
for our Club. We hope you had fun and formed many new fond memories. We wish
you the very best in your life ahead of you.
I would also like to congratulate Ursula
Dressler for becoming the honorary member
of the Concordia Club for the year 2011.
The cleanup of our Campgrounds is on
April 29th.
Club Property cleanup is on May 5th.
Patio opening is on Tuesday May 22nd.

Muttertag
Am Sonntag, dem 13.
Mai findet unser alljährliches Muttertagsessen in unserer Halle
statt. Wieder haben wir
zwei Veranstaltungen:
die erste um Mittag, als
Brunch und die zweite
um 17 Uhr als Dinner
Buffet. Viele Mitglieder nutzen diesen
Anlass um mit ihren Familien gemeinsam
die Mutter bzw. Großmutter zu ehren. Ist
das ein Anlass zum feiern? Ganz bestimmt,
und das lässt dann auch so manches
Mutterherz vor Freude höher schlagen und
schon oft hat der eine oder andere eine
Flasche Sekt zu diesem Anlass bestellt! Man
sieht das auf jeden Fall an den strahlenden
Gesichtern vieler Mütter, denn die ganze
Familie mit dabei zu haben, ist schon eine
große Sache!!
Wie auch in den Vorjahren, plant unsere
Küche schon heute für ein erfolgreiches, farbenfrohes und schmackhaftes Buffet. Jede
Mutter bekommt gleich an der Tür eine
Blume von Miss Tina Richtaritsch, unserer
neuen Miss Concordia, überreicht. Unser
gesamtes Personal wird alle Anstrengungen
machen, diese zwei Veranstaltungen so perfekt wie möglich zu gestalten. Bitte reservieren Sie rechtzeitig. Preis pro Person ist
nur $ 21.50, Kinder 4-12 - $ 10.75, Kleinkinder bis 4 Jahre sind frei! Machen Sie
davon Gebrauch!! Rufen Sie einfach das
Klubbüro während der Bürostunden an,
damit man einen Tisch für Sie bucht!
Weisser Spargel Menü
Nach dem milden Winter hat der Frühling
seinen Einzug gehalten und gleich zum
Anfang denken wir natürlich darüber nach,
wann es wohl wieder so weit sein wird und
wir weißen Spargel servieren. Unser Landwirt, von welchem wir diesen erwerben, hat
uns zwischenzeitlich mitgeteilt, daß es
Anfang Mai schon sein könnte, aber um
ganz sicher zu sein, legten wir uns in
diesem Jahr auf die Woche des 15. Mai bzw.
22. Mai fest, denn bis dahin sei eine größere
Menge durchaus zu haben. Wir hoffen jedenfalls, daß uns das Wetter keinen Strich
durch die Rechnung macht.
Über die letzten Jahre haben wir dieses
Sondermenü in verschiedenen Varianten
angeboten und es erfreute sich jedes Jahr
größerer Beliebtheit! Im letzten Jahr war es
sogar so beliebt, dass wir Mühe und Not hatten, mehr Nachschub vom Gärtner zu organisieren. Auch in diesem Jahr bestellen wir
deshalb etwas mehr und hoffen natürlich
daß wir das ganze verkaufen können! Wir
brauchen natürlich dazu regen Zulauf!
Da wir wetterbedingt leider nicht genau
wissen, wann uns der Spargel zur Verfügung steht, bitten wir Sie, sich doch bitte
telefonisch oder auch auf unserer Webseite
zu erkundigen, ob wir diese Zeitvorgaben
einhalten können und wann es so weit sein
wird.
Freier WiFi Internet Zugang
Seit zwei Jahren bietet der Klub seinen
Gästen freien drahtlosen Internet Zugang in
seinen Räumlichkeiten an. Kunden können
deshalb ihre Internet Geräte mitbringen, sei
es zu einer geschäftlichen Besprechung oder
auch nur so in der Schenke.
Patio Party
Die traditionelle Patio Opening Party wurde
wegen des kurzen Winters kurzerhand umbenannt: „Jährliche Patio Party“ soll es ab
jetzt heißen. Sofern natürlich das Wetter
mitmacht, feiern wir in diesem Jahr die Eröffnung unserer Gartenwirtschaft am Diens-

tagabend, dem 22. Mai. Zünftige Blasmusik
wird es geben und eine Bierprobe mit
deutschem Bier (entweder Hacker Pschorr
oder Turn & Taxis Pilsener) vom Fass!
Auch für die Magenstärkung haben wir
geplant: es wird gegrillt und es gibt leckere
Bratwurst, Leberkäse oder Hamburger, zu je
$ 5 einschließlich Steuern. Es soll ab 17 Uhr
losgehen!
Wie in den Vorjahren spielt die Transylvania Hofbräu Blaskapelle – und das ist dann
so richtig urgemütlich! Sollte sich der
Wetterbericht verschlechtern dann wäre es
wohl empfehlenswert, sich telefonisch im
Klub oder auf unserer Webseite davon zu
vergewissern ob diese Veranstaltung stattfindet bzw. „ins Wasser fällt“.
Vorverkauf der Oktoberfest Eintrittskarten
In der letzten Ausgabe der Nachrichten habe
ich über alle Einzelheiten bezüglich des
Vorverkaufs der Eintrittkarten berichtet. Es
gibt in diesem Jahr einige Veränderungen,
vor allem die des Maximums von Karten
pro Wochenende und auch wie der Verkauf
nach dem Mitgliederverkaufsdatum abgewickelt werden wird. Bitte nehmen Sie Bezug auf das April 2012 Heft, wo alles drinsteht. Falls Sie das Heft nicht mehr haben,
können Sie auch auf unserer Webseite das
ganze Heft nochmal aufrufen: gehen sie einfach auf www.concordiaclub.ca und clicken
sie auf „about the club“ und dann den
„newsletter“ link. Das lädt die Seite mit den
einzelnen Nachrichten, wobei Sie dann das
April 2012 Heft as pdf herunterladen.

Warsteiner Faßbier
Leider wurde mir Anfang April mitgeteilt,
daß die „Warsteiner Zeit“ wohl zu Ende

geht, denn der Vertrieb des Bieres wurde
von seitens unseres Lieferanten eingestellt.
Irgendwie konnte man sich scheinbar nicht
einigen und somit kam die ganze Sache
langsam einem Ende entgegen. Aber.... das
wiederum gibt uns eine Möglichkeit, etwas
anderes auszuprobieren, denn mittlerweile
gibt es so viele importierte deutsche Faßbiere, daß man nicht immer weiß, ob man
nicht das eine oder andere an der Theke
haben sollte!! So, wir haben uns kurzfristig
entschieden ein Pilsener von Thurn & Taxis
anzubieten, vor allem weil es äußerst
schmackhaft und auch preisgünstig ist. Das
wirkt sich natürlich auch positiv auf Ihren
Geldbeutel aus. Wir hoffen auf gutes Gelingen – und lassen Sie es sich schmecken!!
Eventuelle Sprechstunde des deutschen
Generalkonsulats
Auf Anfrage hat man uns folgendes mitgeteilt: „Leider hat das Konsulat derzeit keine Personalkapazitäten, um einen weiteren
Konsularsprechtag in Kitchener anbieten zu
können“. Das, so nimmt man an, sollte sich
auch in der Zukunft auch nicht groß ändern.
Sie müssen sich deshalb selbst auf die Reise
nach Toronto begeben, sollten Sie konsularische Leistungen in Anspruch nehmen
müssen.
Immerhin hatten wir ein paar Jahre, wo das
möglich war, und darüber sind wir dankbar.
Ich hoffe, Sie bald in unserem Klub
begrüßen zu dürfen!

Mothers Day
On May 13th, 2012 we will be open to celebrate Mothers Day in our hall by offering
our brunch buffet as well as an equally
beautiful evening buffet starting at 5pm.
This event, in honour of all mothers, represents one of the more important occasions
in the annual line up of club activities! It is
always a pleasure to see whole families and
extended families come out to not only
cherish their mothers but also their grandmothers! There is probably a sweet spot in
every mother’s heart when she knows her
loved ones all come together to celebrate
“her” as the center of attention! Over and
over we have seen many proud and gleaming grandmothers at these events!
Tradition dictates that our Chef Andreas
and all his staff in the kitchen will make
sure everyone will have a culinary feast. Of
course, as we have done in the past: every
mother regardless of age will be presented
with a flower at the door by Miss Tina
Richtaritsch, our new Miss Concordia 2012.
All of our staff will ensure that everything
on that day will be just perfect. Price per
person will be $ 21.50, children 4-12 pay $
10.75 and children under 4 are free! My
advice is to book early - especially since
even the dinner seating sells out very quickly!
White Asparagus Promo
Yes, we are doing it again! Somewhere
around the third week of May (May 15th
week) and maybe the 4th week of May (May
22nd week), depending on the growing season, we’ll be featuring our special white
asparagus menu, just like we’ve done so
successfully in previous years! On the menu
will be “fresh” white local asparagus with
suitable menu choices and in different variations and combinations. Chef Andreas has
been fine tuning this white asparagus menu
over the years and has perfected it more and
more. This year we will be featuring it again
with all it’s mouth watering choices. Due to
weather conditions we cannot pinpoint
with certainty as to when the asparagus will
be available but our farmer has told us that
he should have a very good supply by then.
Either way, we suggest that you inquire by
either phoning the club office or by checking our web page!! Don’t miss this specialty
during that “window of opportunity”!!
Free Wi-Fi
As it is customary in many hospitality
establishments, we have free wi-fi wireless
in the building and on the patio. You therefore can bring your Internet device along
and enjoy a wireless connectivity while
being at the club, be it for a business meeting or just social.
Patio Opening
This year’s “official“ patio opening has been
renamed “Annual Patio Party” and has been
scheduled for Tuesday, May 22nd from 5pm
on. Our Kitchen will grill sausages on a bun,
fine meatloaf on a bun as well as Hamburgers for only $ 5 inclusive taxes!! And.....
of course we’ll have a draft beer station set
up where we’ll feature either Hacker or
Thurn & Taxis beer directly from Bavaria.
For your musical entertainment we’ll be featuring the Transylvania Hofbrau Band! All
we need to do now is to hope for two things:
That the weather will co-operate and that
many of you will come out to enjoy our
patio opening!! We’ll certainly be ready.

Oktoberfest Admission Tickets
I wrote a long article in last month’s Nachrichten with all the relevant details as to
how and when our Oktoberfest tickets go on
sale. There are changes in terms of maxi-

mum quantities available per member on
the weekend days as well as how the public
sale date is concerned. You can find out
more by looking it up in last month’s
Nachrichten or by visiting our website: simply go to www.concordiaclub.ca and click
on “about the club” and pick the “newsletter” link there you’ll see the April 2012
issue as a pdf file – which your computer
should be able to open.

Warsteiner Beer
A month or so ago I was informed, that our
most popular draft beer “Warsteiner” from
Germany will no longer be available. This is
a sad situation, but also an opportunity for
other premium draft beers to take it’s place.
We have decided to give “Thurn & Taxis
Pilsener” a try. This draft beer comes from
Regensburg in Bavaria and has the potential
to become very popular – particularly because the “price is right” (meaning it is
more reasonable on your pocketbook)!! Give
it a try and enjoy!! Who thought that after
years of only a few “name brand” beers we
would have all this choice!!
The German Consular General
has informed us that due to tight staffing
levels they would be unable to hold a clinic
in the near future in Kitchener. The
prospects of doing so long term look also
rather grim at the moment. Regretfully
you’ll have to make a trip to Toronto, should
you need consular services! At least you are
informed and can make the necessary
adjustments.

Wir trafen uns am 4 April 2012 um 14.30
Uhr bei strahlendem Sonnenschein in der
Jaegerstube. Anwesend waren 17 Mitglieder. Unser Praesident Franz Feest begruesste unsere neuen Mitglieder Hilde und
Heinz Kreuzer. Post hatten wir keine, aber
Franz wies uns auf die Veranstaltungen im
Klub hin und bat uns alle, den Klub zu
unterstuetzen. Am Karfreitag war der Klub
geschlossen, allerdings freuten sich einige
Mitglieder schon auf den beliebten
“OSTERBRUNCH”.
Wir ehrten unsere Geburtstagskinder fuer
fuer April. Marianne Weyer und Margarete
Ziebert (abwesend). Emil und Marianne
spendierten den Kaffe und Kuchen, der
schmeckte doppelt so gut wenn er spendiert
wird. Vielen Dank fuer diese grosszuegige
Spende.
Dann ernannten wir unseren ehemaligen
Praesidenten Fred Heix zum Ehrenmitglied
und ueberraschten ihn mit einer Urkunde.
Fred hat jahrelang die Fuehrung der Senioren uebernommen und unter seiner Leitung wurden in dieser Gruppe viele Fortschritte gemacht. Fred, wir danken dir fuer
die erstklassige Fuehrung unserer Gruppe
und die vielen Stunden die du selbstlos fuer
uns geopfert hast.
Und dann wuenschen wir unserem alten
Mitglied Ernst Klarner auch alles Gute zum
Geburtstag. Uns wurde mitgeteilt, das Ernst
aus persoenlichen Gruenden nicht in der
Lage ist, an unserem monatlichen Treffen
teilzunehmen. Wir wuenschen Dir alles
Gute und bleib gesund.

Dann ging es zum gemuetlichen Teil des
Nachmittags ueber mit Musik, Fruehlingsgedichten und einigen lustigen Geschichten. Viel zu schnell ging der Nachmittag zu
Ende. Wir treffen uns wieder im schoenen
Monat Mai, und zwar am Mittwoch, den
zweiten.
Wir wuenschen nachträglich allen ein frohes Osterfest.
Wenn andre klueger sind als wir,

The 2012 camping season is finally here!!!
March and April were a real tease with the
great weather, giving us much dryer ground
for farm clean up. Hopefully, more maintenance can be done early in the season this
year.
Something new we’re doing this year is a
Camper’s email newsletter. This will give us
the opportunity to keep the Campers much
more up to date on everything such as
bridge conditions, dinner specials at the
pavilion, weekend events, and anything else
that can’t wait for the next Nachrichten.

Our soccer tournament is taking place on
June 9th, and there are still openings for

Olive Oil (Extra Virgin or Virgin is best): Olive
Oil becomes very unstable when exposed to
high temperatures and is not recommended
for cooking. It also becomes rancid very quickly, when exposed to light, or air. It is best purchased in dark glass bottles and should be
stored in a dark cool place, instead of in the
fridge. Its shelf life can be extended by adding
a Vitamin E capsule, as the antioxidants in
Vitamin E will keep the free radicals at bay.
Olive Oil should be a staple in every household as the health benefits are simply outstanding! Make it your first choice for salad
dressings or bread dips - YUM!
Grapeseed Oil: Is a great cooking oil because
like Coconut Oil it is much more stable at high
temperatures. Grapeseed oil has similar heart
health benefits to Olive Oil. It is the 3rd most
common oil used in Italy, with Olive oil and
butter leading the way. It has a wonderful light
nutty taste. Use it in salads, marinades, sauces,
baking and frying. Once opened, it should be
stored in the fridge. Give it a try, it may surprise you.
Next Month: Flax Seed and Chia Seed Which is safe to cook with and which is best
used cold!

played 10 pin bowling. We Had 5 lanes
booked and approximately 30 people
showed up, kids and adults. High score was
Uli with 135 and Dietmar second with 129.
Our Main Treffpunk spring event Fruehlingsfest is Friday, May 4, hope everyone
can attend to make this a great event. As
always our group is putting a lot of effort
into this with decorations and some prizes
for the draw. Golden Keys will be providing
the entertainment which should be an
enjoyable evening. Tickets are $ 10.00 at the
door or you can get some from Treffpunk
members.

Outdoor Group
Greetings from the Outdoor Group!
Hopefully you will read this bulletin prior
to our Rice Lake Fishing Adventure. We are
looking forward to another fabulous trip to
Curtis Point Cottages from May 11th to 13th.
We always have a great time, and usually get
some fishing in along the way. It is usually
chilly there for this fishing trip but we seem
to enjoy the outdoors all the more for it.
Let’s hope no one falls in the lake this year,
right Gloria?
We extend a warm welcome to everyone to
join us for our annual Father’s Day at HomeOn-The-Range. We will start breakfast on
Sunday at 9 am, with lunch at noon and bar
opening at 11am. Since we have a tent for
the ‘chefs’ to cook under, and covered picnic tables as well as the HOTR building, we
serve rain or shine! Bring the family and
come out to join us for the food, the fresh air
and the games for young and not-as-young.
Our annual Bocce Tournament will be happening as well. It’s a great time to be “outdoors” with the “Outdoor Group”. Looking

Don’t forget to join us for our annual Horse
Back Riding. It is scheduled for July 8th.
This event requires that you call to reserve a
spot (so we can book the right number of
horses and guides) and that you come to
have a great time. We will use the Bar-b-Q
on site to have our refreshments right there
when you come in from the trail. This is terrific for those with no horseback experience
right up to avid riders. They provide
mounts from small horses to large, quiet
draft horses, and they have lots of experience on the trail. This usually proves to be a

Unser Frühlingskonzert ist am 6. Mai,
immer am ersten Sonntag im Mai. Das
diesjährige Thema ist “Die Straße der
Lieder”. Wir singen in englisch, deutsch
und sogar ein paar Worte französisch. So
bringen sie alle Freunde, die in einzigartigen Musik-Arrangements interessiert sind!
Es gibt keinen offiziellen Eintritt aber

CONCORDIA CHOIRS
The Concordia Choirs had a successful
President’s Ball on March 24th. Hearty congratulations are extended to our Mixed
choir member Ursula Dressler. She became
this year’s Honourary Concordia Club Member!
As you read this, the choirs will have visited the Loreley Singers in Oshawa on April
21st.
Our Spring Concert is May 6th, always the
first Sunday in May. This year’s theme is
“The Street of Songs”. We sing in English,
German and even a few words of French so
bring any guests that may be interested in
some unique arrangements of music! There
is no official entry fee, however, donations
are always accepted.
The second Sunday in May is Mother’s Day.
We wish all Mothers a happy one! A study
shows more telephone calls are made on
this day than any other.
On June 11th is our last choir practice at the
Concordia Farm. This is also the Goulaschabend!
I am sad to announce the passing of a dearly beloved Sangesbruder, Klaus Gaertner, on
Tuesday, April 3rd. Klaus was a long-time
singer in the Male choir and also played an
important role on the Choir Board for many
years. Our thoughts and prayers go out to
Moni Gaertner who sings in the Mixed choir
along with the rest of the Gaertner family.

Eisstock-Gruppe
Im März 2012 fand wieder die Weltmeisterschaft im Eisstockschiessen in Waldkraiburg, Bayern statt. Acht Mitglieder der Concordia Eisstockgruppe entschieden sich, als
Spieler und Schlachtenbummler teilzunehmen. Der Einzug der Nationen war wieder
ein spektakuläres Ereignis. Für eine Woche
hatten wir viel Aufregung und Unterhaltung. Unsere Mannschaften spielten von
Dienstag bis Donnerstag um eine gute Platzierung im Mannschaftsschiessen und Zielschiessen. Am Abend sorgten die Veranstalter für sehr gute Unterhaltung im Bierzelt
mit bayerischem Essen und bayerischer Musik. An einem Abend hatten wir auch die
Mannschaften von Brasilien und Paraguay
zu einem gemütlichen Abend in unser Hotel
eingeladen. Da eine Kanadische Mannschaft
jedes zweite Jahr am America Cup in Südamerika teilnimmt, pflegen wir schon seit
einiger Zeit eine gute Freundschaft mit
ihnen.
Unsere Frauenmannschaft konnte den achten Platz von 17 Mannschaften belegen, die
Herrenmannschaft erreichte den zehnten
Platz von 24 Mannschaften.
Wir möchten uns nochmals bei unserem
Clubvorstand für die finanzielle Unterstützung bedanken. Es war eine grosse Hilfe.
CONCORDIA ICE STOCK GROUP
In March 2012, eight members of the Concordia Ice Stock Group took part at the Ice
Stock World Championship in Waldkraiburg, Bavaria as players and fans. The
Opening Ceremony was again spectacular.
For one week we had stress and good entertainement. Our teams played from Tuesday
till Thursday at the tournament in team
competition and target shooting. In the
evenings, the organizers offered good Bavarian food and Bavarian music in a beer tent.
On one evening, we hat invited the teams
from Bazil and Paraguay
to our hotel. Since one
Canadian team is taking
part every two years at
the America Cup in South
America, we have a long
standing
relationship
with both countries.
Our women’s team ended
up in place eight out of 17
teams, the men’s team
captured place 10 out of
24 teams.

6. Mai um 10:00 im Bechtel Park stattfindet.
Das tolle Frühlingswetter zieht bestimmt
jeden zum Tennisplatz. Auch unsere Nichtspieler sind herzlich dazu eingeladen um
die Spieler anzufeuern.

hat zur Zeit dieses Schreibens noch nicht

However, I would like to remind our players
that the first game of the year will take place
on May 6th, 10 am at Bechtel Park. With this
fabulous spring weather that we have been
having, I am sure everyone is itching to get
unto the court. Our non-playing members
are also invited to act as a cheering committee for those that are able to play.
At this time, we still have our April social
ahead of us. I will write about it in next
month’s bulletin.

Hello Everyone!
To begin, we would like to congratulate
Carol Bergen and Rick Montag who won trophies for 1st High Single with handicap at
the bowling tournament in March. Way to
go! By the time you read this report, we will
have had our Play-Offs. I will report the
results in the next bulletin. Our closing
banquet takes place at the club on Saturday
May 5th.
We are now looking forward to our year end
trip on May 19th. The bowlers will be traveling to the Niagara region. We will stop at
the Upper Canada Cheese Company followed by lunch and free time in Niagara-onthe-Lake. We will then have two wine tours
and tasting at Joseph’s Estate Winery and
Château des Charmes. The day will end
with the “Oh Canada Eh?” dinner musical.
Finally, best wishes go out to our bowlers
who are celebrating a birthday this month.

Upper Canada Cheese Company und dann
nach Niagara-on-the-Lake. Am Nachmittag
machen wir Weinprobe in zwei Weinkellereien. Am Abend gibt es das “Oh
Canada Eh?” Musical mit Abendbrot.

As spring is upon us, we look forward to our
first outing for the year. We hope to discusss
at the April meeting, to firm up our plans for
an afternoon visit to Terra Nurseries on
Highway 6 - Guelph Line just on the outskirts of Flamborough.
This is an amazing, huge nursery with a
variety of indoor and outdoor plants. If possible we could meet at the club parking lot
at about 12:00 noon and car pool into Terra
Nursery with a late afternoon return into
Kitchener, hopefully, avoiding the 4:30 traffic congestion from the 401 and Hwy 8.
Maryanne Weiler, a Master Gardener, spoke
on the Evolution of a Garden on Wednesday,
April 11th, 7:30. Gardens do change with
lifestyles, fashion trends and perhaps even
climatic changes.
Please let Edith know if you are interested
in joining us on this May excursion. It will
be a trip instead of a meeting for May.
