CLERGY ASSIGNMENTS

“There will be several changes in priest assignments throughout the diocese this summer.
Bishop Etienne has directed that the changes
be announced at affected parishes during the
Sunday Masses this weekend. On Wednesday,
July 6th, Fr Louie will become pastor in Greybull and Lovell. Fr Brian Hess (currently serving
in Sheridan) will become the new associate
pastor at OLM (and HF). On Wednesday, July
6th, I will become pastor in Thermopolis.
Fr Lucas Kazimiro Simango (currently serving
at St Anthony Parish in Casper) will become the
new pastor at OLM (and HF).
In Fr Louie's case, it was simply time for him to
become a pastor. We can congratulate him on
his first pastorate.
In my case, I think that everyone knows that I
have heart damage, having suffered a heart
attack in 2006, which required five bypasses
along with the ongoing complications that
come with a defective heart. I think that most
of you are aware that I suffered a blood clot in
my spleen last fall, for which I was hospitalized
and treated. Since that time, I have privately
communicated my medical information with
the Bishop. In January I indicated to him that,
given the decrease in strength and stamina
that I have experienced due to my heart condition, my diabetes, and the medications that I
am required to take, it would be prudent for
me to be pastor of a smaller parish at this stage of my life.

<<Habrán varios cambios en las designaciones
del clero por toda la diócesis este verano. El
Obispo Etienne ha pedido que los cambios estén anunciados en las Misas este domingo. El
miércoles, 6 de julio, Padre Louie se hará pastor en Greybull y Lovell. Padre Brian Hess
(sirviendo en Sheridan ahora) se hará el nuevo
pastor asociado de Nuestra Señora de las Montanas (OLM) y Sagrada Familia (HF) en Thayne.
El miércoles, 6 de julio, yo me haré el pastor de
Thermopolis. Padre Lucas Kazimiro Simango
(sirviendo en San Antonio en Casper ahora) se
hará el nuevo pastor de OLM y HF.
En el caso de Padre Louie, simplemente, ya es
hora que él se hace pastor de su propia parroquia. Lo felicitamos en su primer pastorado.
En mi caso, creo que todos saben que tengo un
corazón dañado, habiendo sufrido un ataque
cardiáco en 2006, requiriendo cinco bypasses y
las complicaciones en curso que aparecen con
un corazón defectivo. Creo que la mayoría de
Uds. Saben que sufrí una coagulación en mi
bazo, por lo cual fui hospitalizado y tratado.
Desde esa vez, he comunicado mi información
médico en privado con el obispo. En enero, le
recomendé que, dado la reducción en fuerza y
stámina que he experimentado debido a mi
condicion cardiaco, mi diabetes, y los
medicamentos que estoy requierido a tomar,
seria prudente que yo sea pastor una parroquia
mas pequena durante esta etapa de mi vida.
He agreed with that assessment, and was gracious enough to grant me a new assignment.
Obviously, the next few months will be a time
of transition for me and Fr Louie, as we begin
to focus more and more on our next assignments. Even so, if you have any questions or

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION DIRECTOR NEEDED
DIRECTOR/A PARA EDUCACIÓN RELIGIOSA
Ann Carruth has done a fantastic job leading
the religious education program for the past
few years. Ann plans to retire from that position at the end of the current school year. Because of the change in priests that will take
place this summer, we have decided to search
for a Director of Religious Education from within the parish. This will be a half-time position
(20 hours per week) and will offer a salary and
an office. The successful applicant will have the
ability to organize, plan, schedule, recruit, and
provide direction for the parish's religious education program. If you are interested in applying for this position, or if you would like more

La Señora Ann Carruth ha hecho un trabajo fantástico como líder del programa de educación
religiosa en los últimos anos. Ann planea jubilarse del puesto a finales de este ano escolar.

Our Jubilee Year of Mercy activity for April 2016
at OLM is to focus on the Spiritual Work of
Mercy, Comfort the Afflicted.
Nuestra actividad para el Año Jubilado de la Misericordia para abril 2016 es enfocarnos en La
Obra Espiritual de Consuelo a los Afligidos.
Pope Francis has said that “to be
merciful, to comfort the afflicted,
means to enter into the suffering
of others, to walk beside them, to
help them, to tend their
wounds”.
El Papa Francisco ha dicho que,
“para ser misericordioso, para
consolar a los afligidos, significa
entrar en el sufrimiento de los
demás, caminar a su lado, ayudarles, atender a sus heridas.”
To enable every member of our parish to participate in this Spiritual Work of Mercy, you will
find “Commitment Cards” in the pews
and on the round table in the Gathering Area.
We are asking EVERYONE—adults and children,
alike—to fill out one of these cards, indicating
at least one thing you can commit do doing to
“comfort” another human being during this
month.
Para que cada miembro de nuestra parroquia
participe en esta Obra Spiritual de la Misericordia, Ud. Encontrará
“Tarjetas de Promesa” en las bancas y
en la mesa en el Área de Bienvenida. Estamos
pidiendo a TODOS—adultos y niños—a llenar
una tarjeta e indicar por lo menos una cosa a
que podría prometer hacer para “consolar” a
otro ser humano durante este mes.
There is a list of ideas of ways you can comfort
the afflicted available on the round table as
well.
Once you’ve filled out your Commitment Card
(you don’t need to put your name or the name
of the person you will “comfort” on the card!),
we ask you to place your card in the basket, labelled “Comfort the Afflicted”, in front of the
altar in the Church.
During the Prayers of the Faithful at Masses this
month, we will be praying for all of those
“commitments”—for the recipients of our comforting works of mercy, as well as for all of us
performing the works.
Let us all continue to strive to “be merciful as
our Heavenly Father is merciful”!
