New Norwegian Conversation Group starting February 23
The class is tailor-made for our INN members who have a level of Norwegian of A2/+ and wish to practice their Norwegian,
extend their vocabulary and gain more knowledge of Norwegian culture and society. INN can highly recommend this
conversation group. Please let us know if you are interested in participating and we will send you the registration form.
Time: 19:45 – 21:00
Content: 10 exciting themes. Sports, gender equality, and humor are some of the new themes this semester.
Price: 2250,- per person. Divided over 17 hours, 132,50 NOK per hour per person.

We are the result of evolution, but what does evolution really tell us about
what to eat and how to live? Author and researcher Marlene Zuk will give
a popular science lecture based on parts of her latest book: Paleofantasy.

CONCERTS
Oslo Octet, Norges Musikkhøgskole, February 12 at 19.00
Oslo Octet is a new, project-based ensemble that consists of students from the Norwegian Academy of Music. The ensemble
takes as its starting point music written for octet, but will also perform works written for other constellations of voices.
On their first concert, the ensemble will perform a programme that includes “Serenata in vano” by Carl Nielsen, “Sonata for
bassoon and basso continuo in Bb major, K. 292” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and “Octuor ” by Jean Françaix.
The concert is free of charge.

Kristin Asbjørnsen, Nasjonal Jazzscene, February 13 at 21.00
Kristin Asbjørnsen has figured among Norway’s greatest vocalists
for several years. Her ensemble creates a distinctive sound, where
string and percussion instruments are woven together into a warm
and organic sound. The rich chamber play bear traces of inspirations
from West African and Afro-American music, Nordic jazz and
contemplative church music.

Concert with the Norwegian singer-songwriter Numa Edema, who
received great acclaim for his debut single “Delta Man”. With roots
in soul and a heart for folk, he operates in a musical landscape few
Norwegian artists have explored before him. The concert marks the
release of his debut album, entitled “Hourglass”.

Flying Superkids, Folketeateret, February 11 at 18.30
Family show with the Danish gymnastic company Flying Superkids, comprised of
talented children ages 7 to 18. The company has entertained millions of people in 35
countries, and is now ready for Oslo.

Faust for Kids, Black Box Teater, February 13 – 14 at 15.00
Goethe’s Faust adapted for children. The play is suitable for kids 10
years and up, be it the first encounter with the story or if you are
just looking to refresh your Goethe. Faust for Kids was nominated
for the Hedda award for best children and youth performance in
2012. The performance received raving reviews from the press as
well as from the audience.

Children’s Holmenkollen Ski Event, Holmenkollen, February 14 from 10.00

Barnas Holmenkolldag is the world’s largest ski event for children, with around
8,000 participants in the 3-12 age group.
Ski, fun and games - and prizes for everyone! After the ski races there will be other
activities and entertainment. Skis can be borrowed for free at the event.

Traditional and challenging cross-country ski race through some of the most
beautiful parts of the Nordmarka forest.
Choose between the classic 54-kilometre race from the Sørkedalen valley and
a shorter 25-kilometre race from Elveli. Both trails end at Holmenkollen Arena.

Brazilian Carnival, Vulkan Arena, February 13 at 22.00
Spicy 411 and Tornado Booking hope to repeat last year’s success with a

Welcome to a fine crafts exhibition. Hadeland Glassverk will fill the
gallery with artists from across the country and present all types
of handicrafts in a big showroom.
Cathrine Rasmussen and her wondrous carpets with beautiful
shapes will be among the exhibitors.
Kristin Odegaard Wiola, on the other hand, will present her sleek
and colourful sweater collection. She has written several books
on knitting and has really taken the Norwegian “kofta” to new
heights.

“The Sound of Musicals” is a tribute to the greatest musicals.
You will get a taste of the classic musicals such as Cabaret, Chicago and
Singing in the Rain; the fast-paced musicals in 60’s and 70’s such as
Oliver, Annie and Hair; and major musicals of the 80’s like Les Miserables,
