„Jedino znanjem mo`ete pobe|ivati. Koliko daleko odete u sticanju znanja, toliko }ete udobnije i bolje `iveti. Posti`u}i rezultate na taj na~in, u~enik najvi{e daje sebi, svojoj porodici i dru{tvu u celini“. school of the month PRIMARY SCHOOL “VUK KARADZIC” IN ZVECAN T his is one of the largest schools in northern Kosovo, which rightly protects and maintains the primacy as one of the best schools: from its most important potential and resource, which is the teaching staff, to working conditions, participation in all school competitions, technical equipment and scientific instruments necessary for classroom teaching, and the indoor sports facility. The Principal of Primary School “Vuk Karadžić” in Zvečan, Nenad Radenković, told us that the school has 600 students that work diligently, learn and preserve the tradition of an exemplary school that gave many academics. What you learn and master in the elementary school is still the best foundation for the future. “Vuk Karadzic” is one of the few schools in this area that boasts all the good working conditions for work and teaching, with the old and modern teaching equipment. It is certainly important to maintain all that and preserve the school property as it is second home to students. The only thing that needs to be changed is the old joinery so that the school is warmer during the heating season, and that requires a lot of finances. extra-curricular staff, and the students themselves. He said he would not be able to handle all the students if it was not for the strong cooperation of the psychological-pedagogical staff, administration, school board, school parliament and the council of parents. According to him a school director must not act as a police officer rather he must be a good organizer, have knowledge of marketing and be ready to contemplate and act preventively at any moment to avoid conflicts among children, between children and teachers as well as teachers and parents. “In a word, the director is that cohesive element, a substance that needs to connect all of it, to observe of course, and give appropriate timely advice”, stated Mr. Nenad. Novak’s father, former student of this school An interesting fact is that Srdjan Djokovic, Novak Djokovic’s father, finished precisely this primary school, and his grandmother once worked in the accounting department of the same school. So this educational institution is something sacred for this region. However Nole’s ancestors were not the only successful people that came out of this school. Director Radenkovic seems to best know that education is the only key to success. “Only with knowledge you can win. The further you go in learning, the better and more comfortable you will live. Achieving results in this way, a student gives the most to himself, his family and society as a whole.” Work, order, discipline When we went out in the hallway during the big break, the pupils were swarming like bees all over the place. But, as soon as one of the teachers or the director appeared, they all quietly retreated into their hive, and started working hard to amass knowledge. This means that, fortunately, there is still respect for law and order in educational institutions. Mr. Radenkovic particularly expressed satisfaction with all his regular and for you 5 FLORIAN ZEKA: “NE POTCENJUJTE ME!” Me|utim, to se menja. When asked how people react when they find out about their condition, both of them say that most of the people are friendly, but there are people who do not know how to behave at all. The lack of awareness, part of the problem “The behavior that I mostly dislike is when people underestimate due to my blindness, and think that I do not know anything, even that I do not know how to speak. I believe that such behavior comes from their lack of knowledge on the problems of the blind. However, this is changing. There are cases when people show the interest in asking me about my life, and they become even more curious when they find out that I attend lessons in the secondary school, and that I soon hope to enroll in the computer sciences faculty,” Florian explains. Further on, he emphasizes that he mostly likes it when others treat him like an equal. Therefore, there are cases when he asks them to treat him that way. But, according to Florian, this does not happen when he is in the company of his best friends. He even believes that he needs their help as much as they need his, although the help does not correspond to the same things. (Izvor: www.essortment.com) fashion 10 MUST-KNOWS FOR TEENAGE BOYS T together. If you are wearing a patterned shirt, always pair it with plain pants to avoid clashing. Also, match your belt to your shoes, generally brown with brown or black with black. eenage boys have enough to deal with, without having to stress over fashion Do’s and Dont’s. Following ten simple rules will help make sure that fashion slip-ups are avoided. Next, find a signature style. If you have a certain outfit that you feel you look your best in, stock up on other pieces in that style. The first rule to being fashionable is to find clothing that fits your comfort zone If you do not feel good in it, chances are that you will not look that good in it, either. Don’t be afraid to break away from the norm every once in a while If you usually wear jeans and a tee-shirt to school every day, mix it up once a week by wearing khakis and a polo shirt. Wearing the same style every day will cause you to blend into the crowd, but varying your style just a little will keep it interesting. Don’t follow trends too closely A trend is defined as what is popular at a certain time, but that time is usually a short one. Chances are, those lime green cargo pants that were super hot this month will be out of style in two month’s time. Don’t be sloppy Make sure that all clothing items, even shirts, are wrinklefree. Also, always tuck in your shirt tails when wearing a tie. Sagging pants are not attractive. No matter how fashionable it may seem, no one, not even teenage girls wants to see your underpants. When wearing shorts, wear ankle socks or slouched higher socks Do not pull longer socks up the calf. Also, don’t pair sandals with socks, ever. This is a big fashion faux-pas. Stay away from tapered-leg pants They usually tend to look outdated and old fashioned. Choose wide-leg or boot-cut styles for a more up-to-date look. Find jeans and other pants that sit at the base of your natural waistline. If all else fails, ask a female Your sister, girlfriend, and yes, even your mother, are great resources for fashion advice. (Source: www.essortment.com) For special occasions, find an oxford or button-down shirt that fits correctly in the neck Ask an associate at your local department store to measure your neck to get a good fit. The top button of your shirt should always be buttoned when you wear a tie. Also, choose a tie that falls to the top of your belt line. Styles that fall short of this point tend to look silly. When tucking in shirts, be sure to pull them out just a bit so that they blouse slightly over the waistline of your pants. Always dress appropriately for the occasion and situation that you are in While jeans and a shirt might be suitable for school, they won’t necessarily fly when attending club banquet. Khakis and a button-down shirt would probably be a more appropriate choice. On the flip side, don’t overdress for more casual affairs. It will seem as though you are trying too hard. Matching is very important Make sure that the colors of your clothing match. Don’t mix patterns. For example, don’t wear plaids and stripes for you 9 music box Anabela Đogani – Ja idem dalje Biografija Anabela Bukva \ogani je ro|ena od majke Jadranke i oca Ahmeta. Even though life was not gentle to her, she never took the smile off her face, although she grew up in Sarajevo as a child of divorced parents and went through the beginning of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She remained always the same, beautiful, strong and one of the most popular singers in the whole region, most likely thanks to her two daughters Luna and Nina as well. While she was in the Funky G band she published 13 albums, and in 2010 was published her first solo album entitled “Game of Destiny” (Igra sudbine). Since that time she has also published several duets, which became music hits in all discotheques, which gave her an opportunity to work together with Deen, Juice, Vrcak, etc. However, all those old hits of Funky G such as “Only in a dream” (Samo u snu), “Slave” (Robinja), “I have someone” (Ja imam nekoga), “In your car” (U tvojim kolima), will remain well remembered forever. Anabela is also known as a participant in the reality show “VIP Big Brother”, where many people in the whole region had a chance to get to know her better. In the last three years she has raised her career and style to a higher level. She simple decided to achieve all that she could not while in Funky G, therefore, she has at her side a team of competent people which results in good songs. Anabela Bukva Djogani was born by mother Jadranka and father Ahmet. Besides an elementary school, she also attended a music school, the guitar section. She had shown her talent for singing when she was only nine years old, when she performed at the famous festival “Slager” where she took the seventh place. This was but a motivation for Anabela to definitely decide to engage only in music in the future. When she was 17 years old, life took her to Belgrade where she worked as a secretary in a private company. At this time she saw Gagi in a TV commercial for the dance school “Djogani Fantastiko” where she went and met Gazmen Gagi Djogani with whom she spent 17 years. In 1993 they began their joint music career and became entrenched in the local music scene as one of the best dance groups. In 2009, Anabela began her solo career but kept her former husband’s last name Djogani. In 2011 the magazine Story included her in the list 25 the Best Women and Moms. Danas mladi to rade sve manje i manje. THE WORLD IS CHANGING Social networks, an advantage or disadvantage? “You should sign in into the Facebook sometimes so we could chat together for a while...” T hese were the words that I accidentally heard from a conversation that two friends had couple of days ago, and I have to admit that it made me think about the lifestyle of today’s youth. Few years back, the main entertainment for the youth was to go out with friends, play football, basketball or simply riding bikes together. Today, the youth is doing it less and less. The basketball court and the football field are being replaced by the virtual reality of computer game consoles and various social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. Riding a bike is out of the question in this crazy traffic that surrounds us today. Meanwhile, the use of modern and “intelligent” technology such as smart phones, PC tablets and WI-FI has turned this trend into a global phenomenon. For instance, we have the Facebook social network. Personally I do not use it, simply because it does not look like the best way to kill my free time. If I want to spend some time with my friends, then I prefer to go out and have a cup of coffee with them, or even to pay or receive family and social visits. Reading a book is even more interesting to me, but perhaps to majority of you this might seem as outdated. Majority of people think that via Facebook you are able to communicate with people worldwide. Very often, I hear the others saying, especially old generations, that thanks to Facebook they have contacted friends they haven’t heard from them for ages. In this case, I would say that due to Facebook, they have lost the opportunity to go out and make new friends. Some others say that in the Facebook they have made new friends all over the world and they immediately brag about the number of friends they have or how many “likes” (as they use the local jargon) are posted in their wall, etc. I would ask them how many good friends they have!? Or, do they really know them!? There is an old saying “A friend in need is a friend indeed”. Does this apply also for our Facebook friends? Find the balance in your life Life is nothing but a collection of our experiences accumulated over the years. It is these experiences that determine the development of our character, that make us unique. In this context the social media should be seen as part of the modern life which serves to complement and enrich our life in relation to information, entertainment, preserving contacts etc. Therefore I believe that you agree when we say that it is important to find the balance between the time spent in the virtual world and enjoying our life to the maximum, don’t you? for you 13 životinjsko carstvo 5 5 najpospanijih životinja na zemlji 5. Ma~ke a~ke, zajedno sa miševima, svinjama i gepardima, vole da provode puno kvalitetnog vremena dremaju}i. Mogu da spavaju oko 12 sati dnevno. Pacovi, zamorci i lavovi su malo ispred njih pošto mogu da spavaju oko 13 sati dnevno. To zna~i da oni suštinski provode dve tre}ine svog `ivota u zemlji snova. M 5. Cats ats, along with mice, pigs and cheetahs, love to spend a lot of quality time snoozing. They can sleep for around 12 hours per day. Rats, gerbils and lions are a little ahead of them as they can sleep for about 13 hours a day. This means they essentially spend two thirds of their entire lives in dreamland. C 3 4 4. V 4. Squirrels quirrels mostly eat food rich in carbohydrates, protein and fat, which might be the reason they sleep about 14 hours a day. Golden hamsters and ferrets are at the same position. The golden hamster sleeps deep inside its burrow to avoid predators during the day. Though these animals sleep a lot, they are very active when awake. Nevertheless, they are capable of sleeping almost twice as much as we humans do. S 14 for you Da li ste ikada razmišljali o tome koliko sati mi ustavari dnevno spavamo? Me|utim, neke `ivotinje provode ve}i deo celog svog `ivota u zemlji snova. 3. No}ni majmuni o}ni majmun je zaista no}na `ivotinja te se zbog toga tako i naziva. No}ni majmun provede oko 17 sati dnevno spavaju}i. Uglavnom aktivni no}u i široko rasprostranjeni u šumama Centralne i Ju`ne Amerike, ovi majmuni imaju velike braon o~i pomo}u kojih jasnije vide no}u. N 3. Owl Monkeys he owl monkey is a truly nocturnal animal and is also known as the night monkey. The owl monkey spends about 17 hours a day sleeping. Mostly active at night, and widely distributed in the forests of Central and South America, these monkeys have big brown eyes that help them to see more clearly during the night. Have you ever thought about how many hours we actually sleep each day? It’s definitely been a long time since I slept like a baby. While we humans are struggling with sleeping problems and discovering healthy sleep-promoting techniques, there are many animals that happily spend more than 80% of their time sleeping every day. There are animals such as giraffes that need only a few minutes to sleep, while, interestingly, dolphins and whales do not sleep for the first month of their lifes. But, some animals spend much of their entire lives in dreamland. Let us find out more about some of the sleepiest animals in the world! 2. Brown Bats ould it be? 20 hours a day? Yes, brown bats are awake for only 4 hours of the day and love to sleep, some 83% of the time. Hanging upside down, and only emerging during the night, these bats hibernate half the year because of lack of food. Sloths also sleep for the same amount of time. C 1 2. They are actually very active when awake. Some animals do rest half-asleep, and some seem to be at rest but are actually fully conscious. Scientifically, a good sleep, and rest, is essential for a healthy body and gives it a chance to repair. (Source: www.environmentalgraffiti.com) 1. The book describes his life from A to Z and is a good example to all those who are not in a good economic situation that everything can be achieved with persistence and work. Faith in yourself and love for what you do is important as football is in the case of Zlatan. As a child, he never dreamed that his life will turn for the better and that he will become one of the most famous and best athletes on the planet. He started playing football when he was ten years old, and the first contract was signed in Malmoe, in the eponymous team of the largest city in southern Sweden, in the late nineties, after which he moved to Ajax. No wonder that he has the best goals in the world. “I am small, but I will do great things” is definitely a motto that we should always have in your subconscious no matter what profession we pursue. Nepoznate emocije! Neki to zovu “ljuljanje raspolo`enja“ (mood swings). Intenzivne emocije! Naravno, ve} ste do`iveli razli~ite emocije i ranije, ali sada izgledaju mnogo ja~e i mo}nije. U prošlosti ste u`ivali u 24 for you Tokom adolescencije ve}ina mladih ljudi ose}a `elju da budu nezavisni od svoje porodice. Your parents say you are acting weird? The ForYou Magazine explains, why your feelings run riot during adolescence sometimes Y ou are suddenly sad? And you even don’t know why? Your hormones could be the reason for this. The influence of hormones during the adolescence is not only changing your body. They are also responsible for sudden change of your mood – either unexpected feeling depressed or being amped. Some call it mood swings. ForYou explains, why this is normal: This way, that way: mood swings! It seems to you that your emotions are getting stronger und that they are changing rapidly. Just before school begins you beamed with joy und whistled dreamily, and when you are on your way home, you suddenly feel lonesome and sad. One moment ago you were playing with your little sister, and in the next moment you are yelling at her. Intensive emotions! Of course, you already have experienced a variety of emotions before, but now they seem much more stronger and overwhelming. In the past you enjoyed eating vanilla ice cream, but now you really love doing that. You have been jealous before but now you are extreme jealous. Quite simply: Your emotions are stronger now. This is absolutely normal during adolescence! Conflicts! During adolescence most of the young people feel the wish to be more independent from their family. They want to make their own decisions. This includes questioning a lot of things that used to be normal for you within your own family. Now, maybe you think that some agreements, rules and behaviours no longer fit for you. This has to be discussed and mediated. Besides that, you develop a more mature opinion on a lot of topics. And this new opinion might differ completely from the ones your friends or family might have. This can lead to some conflicts. But that’s ok: Nevertheless, you are developing to a unique mature character. Find out what makes you happy and what your interests are. Develop a good sense of yourself! The friction in a heated or challenging discussion belongs to that process. Keep in mind that others might be in the same process. Everyone is unique! Try to remain fair and to the point, but defend your opinion while respecting the other ones. That is the best way to achieve your goals! Share your opinion on www.magazineforyou.com !!! Unknown Emotions! Suddenly you are feeling emotions, which you have never experienced in the past. For example, most girls and boys are falling in love for the first time during adolescence. This can lead to intense emotions and you learn to deal with that over the time. Talk to a friend or an adult you trust. They can help you sorting things out when you feel like having difficulties dealing with these new experiences. for you 25 Upitnik [TA JE KULTURA?
