the death of their loved ones? Do you feel God
is calling you to be an instrument of comfort
and consolation to a family who have lost their
beloved ones? Then, God is calling you to join
the Comforter Ministry of St. Mary. It consist
of making contacts with the bereaved family.
They take care of making easier for the family to
prepare all the details of the wake and the Funeral
Mass. The Comforter Ministry is in need of
Comforters, Sacristans, Altar Server and Readers.
It is a wonderful ministry helping other people in
their moment of grief and sorrow for the lost of
their loved ones.

Respect and Reverence to the Blessed Sacrament
It has been observed lately by many of our devotees, that some who
come to visit the Blessed Sacrament had forgotten to observe absolute
respect and reverence. Jesus is REALLY and SACRAMENTALLY
PRESENT in the Blessed Host exposed in the Monstrance in our
Chapel. Many if not some had come in improper dress code that
has caused scandal to those who are praying. Others come with their
cellphones on, so much so that it disturbs the serenity and sacredness
of the chapel; some come with their chewing gums; others pray so
loud that it disturbs others who are in silent meditation. May I humbly
remind the faithful community that Jesus deserves utmost respect and
reverence. Let us always be conscious of this reminders.

Respeto y Reverencia al Santisimo Sacramento
Se ha observado últimamente por muchos de nuestros devotos, que
algunos de los que vienen a visitar el Santísimo Sacramento se habían
olvidado de observar absoluto respeto y reverencia. Jesús está REAL y
SACRAMENTALMENTE PRESENTE en la Hostia Santísima expuesto en la custodia en nuestra Capilla. Muchos, si no algunos habían
llegado vestidos de forma inapropiada que ha causado escándalo a los
que están orando. Otros vienen con sus teléfonos celulares, así que perturba la serenidad y el carácter sagrado de la capilla; algunos vienen con
sus gomas de mascar; otros oran tan fuerte que molesta a otros que
están en meditación silenciosa. Les recuerdo que Jesús merece mayor
respeto y reverencia. Seamos siempre conscientes de esta presencia.

Little by little we feel the soft breeze of the air gently
touching our cheeks in the early hours of the morning as
we walk to our car and prepare ourselves to work, to school
or any errands. These are two
From the desk seasons I like most in the USof the Pastor
Fall and Winter. If given the
chance to work in another place,
I would like to go to the East
Coast specifically Maryland,Virginia. I have many friends
there and usually I visit them when it is winter time. Fall is
different in the sense that you see rainbow of colors as the
leaves changes into different tones of color. Leaves begin to
fall alongside the path walk as if it were a blanket of soft
cushion creating a variety of sound as you step on them.
Fall has begun. I believe our life can also be compared to 4
stations: winter,spring,summer and fall. There are times we
experience winter-cold,windy, and it make us hard to move;
there is a feeling of laziness and grouchiness. summer? Well,
here in Escondido we have that. Summer brings us nostalgic
moments of family bonding, out of town travel, camping,
picnics and lots of gatherings. But summer reminds us of
dryness and temperance. We usually experience dryness in
our life, dryness at one moment or another in our relationship with the Almighty, perhaps we were or are experiencing a longing in our hearts. We may also feel dryness in our
relationship with others-frictions, conflicts, roughness and
the like. Spring? Wow, everything you see around is beautiful. The garden in our backyards begin to breath life. Flowers in different colors begin to bloom. The parks with their
beautiful landscape demonstrate vigor and life! Life can also
be springtime-full of life and joy! Eyes gleaming with happiness and contentment. Lovers of nature have their feast. Life
can also be feasting! It can also breath life and hope to others whom we come in contact with. How about you- what
particular stations would you like to experience?. Oh, before
I forget- our life can also be a combination of the 4. Winter,
spring,summer and fall.
Dear parishioners - 1 week from now, we shall be witnesses
of the realization of this dream which was conceived approximately 30 years ago. I am referring to our future site
of St. Mary Pastoral Center. This coming Sunday will be
the GRAND GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY at
3:00pm immediately after the 1:30pm Spanish Mass. ALL
are cordially invited to this very special historical moment
of St. Mary community. On this day, we will be blessed by
the humble presence of our Bishop Emeritus of San Diego,
Most Reverend Robert Brom. We will be witnesses of the
humble beginning of this project. It will be a family affair.
You may wish to bring a dish to be shared with others. On
this day, I am also recommending myself to your humble
prayer- because I will be celebrating my 29th year as a religious-missionary priest of the Society of the Divine Word.
I humbly and sincerely thank the Almighty God for having
blessed me with the gift of religious vocation. I also thank
my beloved parents who are both in heaven now, which I
am pretty sure are all smiling and happy for having a priest
son. I would like to share this joyful moments with all of
you in my masses on that day.Please continue to pray for
me,wherever I would be. God has been so kind to me ever
since I arrived here at St. Mary. Thank you very much for
allowing me touch your life in every possible way. If in case
I was not able to meet your expectation and demands, I am
asking for your understanding and forgiveness. In this world
I am fully aware that nobody is indispensable and added to
that we cannot ever please everybody. Once again- Maraming Salamat po!

A HUMBLE REQUEST
1. Last week our drainage system had a major problem.
They found out that it was clogged by lots of paper towels,
sanitary napkins and different kinds of rubbish. We paid
an1 exorbitant price for the job. I believe it is the responsibility of everybody to take care of our toilets. Parents must
accompany their children when going to the toilet, to avoid
mis-use of toilet papers or any kind childish play while in
the toilet.
2. The “crying room” was built specifically for parents who
have babies and little kids to kindly use our crying room for
the week end masses. It has been observed that parents do
not even have the initiative to call the attention of their children during Mass. They should at an early stage the respect
and reverence of the Church and the Holy Mass.
3. Punctuality is justice- because it respect people. When
you come in late- you disturb and distract the whole congregation. Make it a point to arrive at least 10 minutes, so
that you can have a personal preparation before Jesus present
inn the Adoration chapel.
4. Sunday bulletin - there are enough copies for everybody.
One time, give yourself a respite and I am encouraging the
readers to read the thoughts and reflections from the desk
of the Pastor.

TWENTY-EIGHTH SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME
Oh Maria sin pecado concebida, Ruega por Nosotros que recurrimos a Vos
Poco a poco sentimos la fresca brisa en el aire
tocando suavemente nuestras caras por la mañana
al caminar hacia el autoal prepararnos para ir al
trabajo, a la escuela, o a
Del escritorio hacer nuestras cosas cotidianas. Estos son dos
del Párroco
estaciones del año que
me gustan mucho aquí
en Estados Unidos. El Otoño y el Invierno. Si se
me diera la oportunidad de trabajar en otro lugar,
me gustaría que fuera en la Costa del Este especialmente en el estado de Maryland o Virginia .
Tengo muchos amigos allá y usualmente los visito
en el tiempo de Invierno. El Otoño es diferente
en el sentido que se ven los colores del arco iris y
las hojas de los árboles cambian a diferentes colores. Las hojas se comienzan a caer por los caminos
como si fueran una cobija acolchonada creando
una variedad de sonidos al caminar sobre ellas. El
Otoño ha comenzado. Yo creo que nuestras vidas
se pueden comparar con las cuatro estaciones: Invierno, Primavera, Verano y Otoño. Hay tiempos
que experimentamos en el Invierno el frío viento,
que nos hace flojos y corajudos. Verano? Bueno,
aquí en Escondido, el Verano nos trae momentos
de nostalgia entre los vínculos familiares, viajes,
campamentos, días de campo y muchas reuniones. Pero el Verano nos recuerda la sequía y aridez. Usualmente nosotros experimentamos cierta
resequedad en nuestras vidas, aridez en un momento u otro en nuestras relaciones con Dios, tal
vez estamos experimentando ansias o anhelos en
nuestros corazones. También, puede ser que sintamos aridez en nuestras relaciones con los demás,
fricciones, conflictos, violencia etc. Primavera?
Todo lo que se ve es hermoso. El jardín en nuestra
casa comienza a respirar vida. Flores de diferentes
colores se empiezan a ver. Los parques con su buen
cuidado demuestran vigor y vida! La vida también
puede ser tiempo primaveral- lleno de vida y de
alegría! Los ojos brillan de felicidad y contento y
los amantes de la naturaleza lo celebran. La vida
en sí puede ser una fiesta! También puede dar vida
y esperanza a los que están a nuestro alrededor. Y
usted? cual estación del año le gusta experimentar? Oh!, antes que se me olvide- nuestra vida puede ser una combinación de las cuatro. Primavera,
Verano, Otoño e Invierno.
Queridos feligreses - Dentro de una semana, seremos testigos de la realización de este sueño que
dio comienzo hace aproximadamente 30 años.
Me refiero al lugar donde se construirá nuestro
futuro Centro Parroquial de
Santa María. El próximo Domingo será la GRAN
CEREMONIA BREAKING GROUND “Bendición del Terreno donde se construirá el CENTRO PARROQUIAL DE SANTA MARIA” a las
3 de la tarde inmediatamente después de la Misa
de 1:30pm. TODOS están cordialmente invitados a este especial e histórico momento de la
comunidad de Sta. María. En este día estaremos
bendecidos con la presencia de nuestro Obispo
Eméritus de San Diego, el Exelentísimo Señor
Obispo Robert Brom. Estaremos presenciando el
comienzo de este proyecto. Será un evento familiar. Si gustan pueden traer su platillo favorito para
compartir con los demás. También en este día les
ruego que oren por mí - porque ese día cumpliré
29 años como sacerdote religioso - misionero de
la Sociedad de la Divina Palabra. Yo, con humilde
sinceridad doy gracias a Dios por haberme bendecido con el regalo de la vocación religiosa. También, agradezco a mis padres que ya están en el
cielo y que estoy seguro que están felices y sonrientes por su hijo sacerdote. Me gustaría compartir
este feliz momento con todos ustedes en las Misas
de este día. Por favor continúen orando por mi
dondequiera que yo esté. Dios ha sido tan bueno
conmigo desde que llegué a Sta. María.
Muchísimas gracias por permitirme tocar sus vidas en cada aspecto posible. En caso de no haber
cumplido todas sus expectativas o peticiones, les
pido su comprensión y su perdón. Estoy totalmente convencido que en este mundo nadie es
indispensable y nadie puede complacer a todos.

NOTICIAS DE LA COMUNIDAD HISPANA
El 5to Lunes del mes pasado (Septiembre 29)
tuvo lugar nuestra primera Misa Carismatica y
Oracion de Sanacion. La Iglesia estaba repleta de
gente de varios grupos y feligreses que simplemente quisieron vivir la experiencia. Hubo una
buena animación del coro, mas las oraciones
profundas de la comunidad.
Esta Santa Misa forma parte del programa
pastoral de la comunidad Hispana. Este 14 de
Octubre habrá formación liturgica. Estan TODOS invitados a esta formación permanente
para poder prepararse en el futuro para la obra
de evangelizacion. Se les pide tambien aquellos
coordinadores / grupos que no han entregado
el ingreso de venta de comida para el mes de
Agosto y Setiembre; favor hacer una contabilidad transparente y entregar el dinero a la oficina
parroquial para luego incluir en el fondo para
el Centro Parroquial que esta por comenzar a
construir.
Queremos dar a conocer a todos los devotos
de la Virgen de Guadalupe que a partir del mes de
Setiembre hasta Noviembre 7, 2014, la Secretaria
Parroquial estará recibiendo y anotando intenciones
para la Novena de Misas en honor a la Virgen de
Guadalupe. La novena comenzara el día 4 hasta 12
de Diciembre con la Santa Misa a las 6:00pm en la
Iglesia principal. Aquellos que están interesados, favor
dirigirse a la oficina parroquial en las horas de oficina
para anotarse su intencion.
La donación será de $10.00 por intención por cada
dia. Pidan recibo cuando se anoten y guardelo.
En los días del novenario, serán imprimidas todas las
intenciones del dia en un pergamino
y seran colocadas ante la Imagen de la Virgen de
Guadalupe cada dia.
SOLO en la oficina parroquial seran aceptadas y
anotadas las intenciones.
NO hemos asignado a nadie FUERA de la oficina o
en el predio de la Iglesia personas para aceptar otras
intenciones y donaciones.
Para aquellos que quieran donar FLORES en forma
de dinero, también dirijan a la Secretaria Parroquial y
entregar su donación en el sobre-con nombre y teléfono. Habra un equipo para encargarse de la decoración del altar de nuestra Madre.
